Churros have long been a traditional treat all over the world. From Amusement Parks, to Costco, this sugary snack is a family favorite. Though, the debate still stands on where Churros first originated from, one thing is for curtain—churros are a gift from the Gods. And Lucero's Bakery, a well known Mexican bakery in the heart of Los Angeles is no stranger to the new twist on the Traditional Churros. Yes, you read correctly.. the traditional churros have been upgraded and the new craze is taking the churro industry by storm. As mentioned, Lucero's Bakery is no stranger to this new churro phenomenon though. What's the new Craze? Filled Churros But first, a little about the famous Lucero's Bakery: Lucero's Bakery was founded in the 1980's and is family owned. What started out as a small Mexican bakery, soon transformed into a well known Mexican bakery to Angelinos. Famous for their Choco-flan, tres leches cakes, and pan ducle— it's the filled churros that attracts and keeps people coming back for more! I first heard about their famous filled churros when some close friends brought a box of the cajeta filled churros to a party—which started my filled churro obsession! Naturally, I knew that I needed to investigate this new phenomenon and contacted Lucero Bakery. The owner's daughter, Marisol was nice enough to let me tour their bakery in Commerce and this is how it went: Upon arrival to the Lucero Bakery, I was greeted by the owners friend and employee, Alice smiling as I walked in. It's no wonder that Lucero Bakery has been receiving nothing but 4 stars and above on Yelp, with their outstanding customer service. I was not surprised to see why they have a line waiting for their famous churros. I was able to sample a cajeta filled churro that was freshly made, and it was definitely a game changer compared to the traditional churros. Lucero Bakery makes their churros and other baked goods there from scratch. Not giving their famous family secret recipe for the churro dough, I was aloud to go behind the scenes to see their churro process: Lucero Bakery has 2 locations:
They do have a 3rd location open due to a small fire that had the doors closed at the Commerce location while repairs were taking place a while back. The 3rd location is on 6200 Gage Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201. However, I was told that plans to expand the Commerce location are in sights, and that's Great News for their customers! The expansion plan will be closing the Bell Gardens location, which is .2 miles down the street, but the Commerce location will be getting upgrades which will include a dine-in sitting and possibly new flavors for their filled churros which may include Strawberry and Nutella Read more about Lucero Bakery in my article on Vocal.Media

I always say this everytime I see posts like this. Why do I have to see all of these when I am trapped in a situation where it's impossible for me to go out to buy food or at least buy the ingredients I need to make this myself? I have been very busy with work lately and I just have instant food delivered in my doorstep. Now I guess the weather will make it impossible for me to drive for hours. I have to content myself just looking at pictures for the mean time. It sounds silly but sometimes that's all I can get myself into and it's really funny and a pain at the same time.
